Unlocking the Mysteries of Chinese Language and Culture

Chinese language and culture can be both fascinating and daunting to the beginners. This series of seven lectures are designed to provide a window to understand Chinese language and culture. By the end of the course, you will learn the basics of Chinese language and culture as well as some basic Chinese social etiquette.

Below is the outline of the seven classes:
Session 1: Characteristics of Written Chinese
Session 2: Characteristics of Spoken Chinese
Session 3: Chinese Words of English Origin
Session 4: English Words of Chinese Origin
Session 5: Essential Chinese Words and Social Etiquette
Session 6: Understanding Guanxi and Mianzi in Chinese Culture
Session 7: Review and Test

This course is offered on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:00 - January 10 - February 28 and Tuesdays from 10:00 to 11:30 - January 11 - February 22
